all Reading/Kutztown/Allentown area friends! check out a recent portrait i did of RFK at this upcoming small works show this friday:
NAP's 24th Invitational Salon of Small Works Exhibition Friday May 24 to Sunday July 14, 2013 New Arts Program Gallery 173 W. Main Street, Kutztown, PA
still a little heavy-handed with the ink, but i'm working on it. continuation of some relief prints i began awhile ago. mostly i just dig the way the block looks during the process..
another successful open studios at The Invisible Dog. so happy to be a part of this space, surrounded by so many amazing artists! BIG thank you to everyone who came by last weekend. here are a few pics of my studio from day two.. which is probably obvious judging from the hungover bags under my eyes. :)
i must say, DAMN it feels good to simply paint something beautiful in a beautiful way. no conceptual intent, no layered meaning or media, no graduate art school pretension. just some really pretty flowers, really big. whew. alas, my 5x5 foot detail for the mural arts exhibition in june. still a little more to touch up, but it's just about resolved..
a couple illustrations i produced earlier this month as a Griot Apparel collaboration with the RFK Foundation. the collaboration didn't quite materialize, but this work will be the jump-off for a future RFK design we may release independently..
and, while i'm at it, another quick first glance..
been so busy lately with my mural class and my recent open studios, i've fallen a couple weeks behind on this blog. just to catch up, some recent painting activity..
and some recent printmaking activity (including my first attempts at my obsolete facebook self portrait idea)..
